Barton Hegeler has two decades of
experience as a civil and criminal trial lawyer
and specializes in complex personal injury cases.
The Hegeler firm provides the results,

accessibility. Mr. Hegeler has represented many
of the largest healthcare providers in San Diego
since 1988.

of litigation, from pre-litigation internal
investigations, depositions, administrative
hearings, through trial. The firm also has an
appellate practice.

Mock juries are used prior to trial to identify
issues critical to a successful outcome. At
trial, Mr. Hegeler uses the most advanced
approaches for jury selection and presentation of
demonstrative evidence to juries. Mr.

Mr. Hegeler has assembled a group of attorneys
and support staff with the knowledge and
background to compliment his own experience,
enabling them to provide the highest level of
representation to clients, utilizing cutting-edge
techniques and thorough preparation.
Mr. Hegeler was a Prosecutor in Kern County
California for eight years, during which time he
specialized in the prosecution of serious and
violent crimes, and was one of the founders of the
Kern County District Attorneys Sex Crimes
Prosecution Unit.
Mr. Hegeler joined the law firm of McInnis,
Fitzgerald, Rees & Sharkey in 1987, and
became a Partner in 1992. Mr. Hegeler was a
member of the firms Health Care Group, and
specialized in all aspects of representation of
the health care community.
Mr. Hegeler formed his law firm in 1995, with an
emphasis on providing superior representation. Mr. Hegeler
has obtained the highest rating from the
Martindale-Hubbell national directory of lawyers
and firms, and has been elected to the American
Board of Trial Advocates. Mr. Hegeler has tried
over 100 jury trials and is licensed to practice
law in California and Illinois.
